There is nothing wrong in getting angry, like sadness, happiness and love, anger is also a natural but strong emotion in human beings, but the problem can be the way you express your anger and your ability to control it. Anger is compared to demon because just like demon anger has all the negative qualities and it can only provide harm to yourself and others. Anger is a path to self destruction. When a person gets angry he forgets the goodness in himself and often acts in aggressive and abusive manner. It destroys your personal relationships, work performance and your mental and physical health.

Mark Twain has rightly said that “Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured” When you are angry for a long period of time, it can be very dangerous for your own body, it weakens your immune system and increases your chances to get sick more often. It is proven that anger can also shorten your life as stress is very tightly linked to general health of a person.

Anger can cause many physical problems as well, like headaches, migraines, chest pains, body aches and more. Over the long term, anger can put you at a risk of hypertension, high blood pressure, depression and heart problems. Acc. to Dr Chris Aiken,” In the two hours after an angry outburst, the chance of having a heart attack doubles”. That is why it is very important to keep this emotion in control.

There are many ways to control your anger. for example: By practising yoga and meditation to calm down the body and mind. Be silent whenever you get angry and keep taking deep breaths in and out. Think of a funny memory or go for a walk. Try to identify the root cause of your anger and deal with that. Think positive and do good deeds for others, that way you attract positive energy and people around you and you feel happy.

Seek the help of a qualified counsellor to help in learning anger management skills. Thus in order to live a happy and healthy life you should never give vent to your anger, but always holds this demon inside you in check and cultivate the virtue of love.
