A New Zealand-based travel agent trying to flee abroad has been arrested from Amritsar airport in Punjab for allegedly defrauding millions of rupees. The Punjab Police have taken this action based on a lookout notice issued for him some time back, Harinderpal Singh, Superintendent of Police, confirmed.
Information revealed shows that Krish Neil Reddy, a Fiji-origin travel agent, was operating his travel (migration) business in Phagwara, district Kapurthala Punjab India to help people migrate to New Zealand. Instead, he collected hundreds of thousands of rupees from innocent people through his fraudulent company. Krish Neil Reddy provided fake 'New Zealand work permits' to his clients at the Phagwara office, Punjab, for 10 lakh rupees each. As a result, the local police had received complaints from affected people.
Phagwara police took him into custody but could not catch him after being released. Therefore, the police had issued a lookout notice for him. However, when he was found at Amritsar International Airport trying to flee abroad, he was stopped, and Phagwara took him into custody.
In the past, NZ Punjabi News had received several complaints against this travel agent, which led to the publication of several reports on the alleged fraud case of the victims. The fact came to light that before engaging in the highlighted fraud in Punjab, he had set up fake firms in New Zealand and financially exploited one of his employees. Reddy was also fined for doing so.
